Considering that the iPadOS update was about to bring some major changes as well as much-awaited AI features, this update was one that was eagerly awaited. However, according to some recent reports, Apple has stopped rolling out the iPadOS 18 update for some iPads due to reports of bricked devices.

Apple suspends the launch of iPadOS 18 for the iPad Pro with M4 processor

According to the latest reports from Mac RumorsApple has pulled the iPadOS 18 update following complaints from some iPad Pro users. iPad users have posted on Reddit that they were having trouble installing the iPadOS 18 update. Reddit author He shared that the update was installing, but the process was interrupted and his iPad won't turn back on.

“At some point during the update my iPad shut down and would no longer turn on,” the Reddit user wrote. “I just took it to the Apple store where they confirmed it was completely bricked,” the author added. Another user commented on the post that their iPad was also bricked. “Mine too. 11″ iPad Pro M4 bricked by the update,” the user commented.

Meanwhile, other users were able to install the iPadOS 18 update without any issues. Some commenters suggested skipping the iPadOS 17.7 update and getting the iPadOS 18 update instead. However, several users suggested waiting a bit before installing any update completely.

“We have temporarily removed the ‌iPadOS 18‌ update for M4 ‌iPad Pro‌ models while we work to resolve an issue affecting a small number of devices,” Apple said in a statement provided to MacRumors.

For the time being, Apple has completely halted the iPadOS 18 update, meaning that M4 iPad Pro users will not be able to download it. When the issue is fixed, the update will be available for installation again. However, the company has not mentioned exactly when the update will be rolled out.
