Dishonorable Elden Ring players avoid Shadow of the Erdtree's biggest duel without even entering the boss room

Very similar to the Dark Souls boss, which can be defeated by throwing hundreds of… dung cakes On a wall, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree's dual-wielding magic knight can die without ever setting foot inside its boss room.

Several players have discovered that Rellana, Twin Moon Knight, has no answer for a Tarnished that stands outside of her arena and casts magic at her until she dies. User X Storm zio posted a video demonstrating the dishonorable act, which simply involves casting long-range magic through a wall of fog. But not just any wall of fog, it has to be the one that can only be reached by going behind his home, Ensis Castle.

There are plenty of spells that work – Ziostorm recommends Fallen God’s Flame, but other methods on YouTube use Moonveil’s ranged attack, the Impenetrable Thorns spell from the DLC, and even Rellana’s Carian Sovereignty spell. As long as you’re strong enough to hit her while she’s standing in the middle of the room, it’ll work.

I’m not one to talk anyone out of messing with a boss that’s giving them trouble, but Rellana is one of the best fights in the DLC and deserves at least a few regular attempts, if only to hear her exceptional theme music. She’s a dual-wielding Carian knight who throws magical moons at the ground that you have to jump on like Mario; it’s the most exciting duel in the game. But she can also cut you to pieces so fast that you don’t have time to respond, so I understand the urge to skip her entirely.

If you must do it, you have to first travel to the southeast From Ensis Castle through a ravine and fly through a pair of sealed spirit springs to the Fort of Rebuke. Once you fight your way through, you'll be in Scadu Altus and can safely follow the path north to the back gate of Ensis Castle, where Rellana's fog gate is located. Ziostorm's clip doesn't show Rellana attempting to fight back, but she did wake up and kill This player through the door, so be careful.

I'm guessing this trick won't last long. FromSoft is pretty diligent about patching methods of killing bosses that don't even require you to enter the room. If it's fixed, though, you can use the route around Ensis Castle to gorge yourself on a bunch of extra Scadutree Fragments before fighting her, which should make it considerably easier. Or you can just leave the poor woman alone to mourn the total collapse of the order she once served.
