(GAMESCOM) Corsair shows off its SimRacing solution: launch in late 2024

We have been following Corsair's approach to Fanatec The end of Gamescom was rather unfortunate, but it seems that Fanatec no longer intends to stop in its development efforts and its ambition to offer products for the growing SimRacing market. At previous Corsair fairs, the SimRacing rigs on display were equipped exclusively with Fanatec hardware, and Corsair also presented Fanatec hardware at its stand. The change of direction is radical for this Gamescom, where the brand presented its complete solution. The Corsair chassis is made from 50 mm steel tubing and offers adjustable driving positions for anyone between 1.55 m and 1.98 m tall. In addition, additional optional accessories can be considered, such as a tray for the PC or console, as well as mounts for a direct drive wheel, gear shifters, reverse pedals, transmission trays, lights and cameras.

Corsair Racing Simulation Platform

Despite the failure of the agreement with Fanatec, Corsair bets on SimRacing

The first version of this chassis (let’s call it the “entry-level”) comes with a single-monitor stand that can accept sizes from 27 inches up to a 49-inch ultrawide display. But it can be upgraded to accommodate displays up to 65 inches, as well as an additional stand that can place a display up to 34 inches above the other monitor. Then, for those who prefer a three-screen setup, a stand that supports such a setup with displays ranging from 27 to 55 inches plus an additional monitor on top.

The starting price is $799 (probably €899 in Europe) for the bare chassis. This means you'll also need to buy a seat and, at the very least, a steering wheel. The seat itself, offered by the brand, costs an additional $200. If you buy the chassis with this option, the seat will be mounted directly on it. If not, the platform is designed to accept seats from other brands.

Perhaps the best thing about the Corsair chassis is that no tools are needed to make adjustments once installed – small levers that function like a ratchet replace the need for Allen keys and the like, making it much easier to adjust angles, mounting heights and more. Once installed, however, it should be noted that the Corsair solution is rather “huge,” which could be an issue for some.
