The idea behind this Jack and the Beanstalk The science themed activity is to design and build a mini parachute so that Jack can safely fall to the bottom of the beanstalk.
Remember, if you are trying out different parachute designs, you must use the same toy figure for Jack and launch the parachutes from the same height.

Experiment with different parachute sizes and see which one falls the slowest.
Prepare an investigation using different types of parachute materials. Paper, felt, and a plastic bag are good examples.
