Sonos Arc is a premium smart soundbar that can enhance your Home cinema It was well received by the community when it was launched and has remained a popular choice ever since. However, as it has been more than four years since its launch, users are starting to wonder when they will see a new model.

At the moment, since the company hasn’t talked about the Sonos Arc 2, we can’t say exactly when it will be released. However, according to some sources, Sonos plans to ship it later this year. But keep in mind that this is just a rumor and nothing will be confirmed until Sonos makes an official announcement. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at what we’ve seen so far.

Sonos Arc 2 Release Date Rumors

Sonos hasn't shared anything official about the Sonos Arc 2. They've remained silent and focused on other products. However, in November 2023, Bloomberg reported The company plans to release several products in the coming years, including a soundbar codenamed “Lasso.” Many believe the Lasso is actually the Sonos Arc 2, and according to Bloomberg, it will offer “better bass and improved audio quality over the existing Arc model.”

Then last month, The Verge leaked some new details about Lassoand even managed to get their hands on some of its images. They also confirmed that the next model will offer better audio quality and some new features.

Potential price of the Sonos Arc 2

The first Sonos Arc launched at $799, but later increased to $899. Considering that the Sonos Arc 2 is likely to offer significant upgrades and improvements, we expect it to cost between $1,100 and $1,200. That will be a reasonable price for a premium soundbar that comes with all the latest features.

On the other hand, it seems like a substantial increase that puts it within a different price range, so we'll have to wait and see until official pricing is released when the possibility of pre-orders comes into play.

Expected features of the Sonos Arc 2

Since Sonos hasn’t revealed anything officially, it’s hard to say exactly what features it will have. However, considering it will be a new model, we can expect to see improved features like more connectivity options, better audio and build quality, and some new features that would make it stand out from the crowd.

If you look at the image leaked by The Verge, the Lasso appears to offer an HDMI port, an Ethernet port, and a toggle button that lets you turn the microphone on or off. The most interesting detail, however, is the Bluetooth button. Sonos fans have long complained about the lack of Bluetooth on soundbars, but the leaked image shows a Bluetooth button on the left side of the Ethernet port. So, if this turns out to be true, we'll finally get the long-awaited feature on the next model.

For those who don't know, to get the most out of the Sonos Arc, you need a Sub or Sub mini. However, in April 2022, Sonos acquired Mayht Holding BV, a well-known speaker manufacturer. This company is known for creating small speakers that deliver the same power as a large speaker. Sonos could therefore leverage their expertise to make the Lasso work seamlessly without the need to purchase additional speakers.

Should I buy the Sonos Arc or wait for the Sonos Arc 2?

The Sonos Arc is a pretty solid soundbar, but it's missing some important features, like Bluetooth. So, if you primarily connect your devices via Bluetooth and want better audio quality, you should wait for the Sonos Arc 2. Keep in mind, though, that there's no confirmed release date at the moment and you might have to wait until 2025 to get your hands on it.

In the meantime, expect to see some decent deals on the original Sonos Arc, like the one on We saw it on Father's Day This year, as the new model approaches, the Arc's price is likely to drop even further.
