Sony shared a post to celebrate its 30th anniversary ahead of the release of Astro Bot. As well as reflecting on its journey and highlighting the characters and stories that shaped PlayStation, the post also included a subtle teaser in the official image.
There was previously a leak indicating that Sony is already working on the packaging for its next console, known as the PlayStation 5 Pro or PS5 Pro. According to the leak, a design sketch, purportedly based on an actual image of the box, showed three black stripes, in contrast to the single stripe seen on the current PS5 “Slim.”
Sony's new image released today appears to include a small teaser that matches previous reports. A small vector image in the post shows a strikingly similar design to the one mentioned in the leaks.
As for the official launch, some rumors suggest that Sony might host a special event at the end of September, although this has not been confirmed. Sony has only hinted that there will be more announcements soon, without specifying whether they will involve new hardware or games.
This is great news for gamers. There is hope that the upcoming presentation will give us our first look at RDNA4's ray tracing capabilities, which are rumored to be included in the next console's specs.
