Axelar has officially launched Mobius Development Stack (MDS), a platform designed to deliver customizable self-service interoperability between multiple blockchains, on its mainnet. Prominent Layer 1 blockchains such as Sui, Stellar, XRP Ledger, as well as security providers EigenLayer and OpenZeppelin will adopt MDS to build a truly open and connected web3 ecosystem.

As a platform for an omnichain world, MDS helps break down the barriers between different blockchains. Developers can create applications that work on multiple networks and tailor MDS to their specific needs. The platform, which the team describes as the first to offer a holistic approach to interoperability, enables customizable self-service integration with any system, on-chain or off-chain.

The MDS approach can lead to a better user experience and encourage greater innovation, as people can interact with applications on different blockchains without having to switch between them. The platform aims to redefine the interaction between users and data on the web3, promising a connection with unlimited possibilities.

“With MDS, we are empowering developers to build decentralized applications that freely compose resources, logic, value, and network effects across a truly global Internet landscape,” said Georgios Vlachos, director of the Axelar Foundation and co-founder of the Axelar protocol. saying.

Axelar's MDS will support major Layer 1 blockchains through the Interchain amplifier. This is one of the key features of MDS that allows for permissionless, dynamic and customizable integrations with various consensus approaches.

“Axelar MDS will give developers the tools to compose these innovations with technology and communities on web3,” Adeniyi Abiodun, co-founder and chief product officer of Mysten Labs, the developer of Sui Network, commented on the launch.

In addition to the Interchain amplifier, Axelar's MDS features the Interchain Token Service (ITS). This feature will facilitate rapid tokenization of assets, extending beyond traditional blockchain bridges to include real-world assets, thereby expanding the reach of decentralized applications and financial services.

According to Jasmine Cooper, Product Manager at RippleX, seamless interoperability between different blockchains is essential to fully realize the potential of web3. She believes that XRP Ledger's integration with MDS can help RippleX facilitate cross-chain asset mobility and protocol access, providing greater value to both users and developers.

The platform also integrates cutting-edge security features from Babylon and EigenLayer, enhancing cross-chain interactions with Bitcoin and Ethereum-level security.

“The integration with the Axelar Mobius Development Stack opens up a universe of recovery opportunities in new use cases that were previously inaccessible to Eigen,” said Luke Hajdukiewicz, Head of EigenLayer at AVS BD. “Axelar and EigenLayer are achieving the same vision: a horizontally scalable web3 where developers compose freely across networks and user resources.”
