AMD Ryzen AI 300 APUs are taking center stage as they compete head-to-head with processors like the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite, manufactured directly by a brand known for making top-tier mobile chips. As such, many are wondering whether Zen 5 APUs based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture and featuring XDNA 2 NPU cores will have the power to dethrone Qualcomm.
That said, although we have seen AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 Performance Leaksand those results are pretty impressive, another leak from Golden Pig Upgrade suggests that the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 isn't the most powerful AI APU; there's still more to come.
AMD's Ryzen AI 300 Series So Far
The Ryzen AI 300 series has three APUs: Ryzen AI 9 HX 375, Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, and Ryzen AI 9 365. All of them have a similar 28W TDP and boost clock speeds, and the cores and threads of the top two APUs are the same, while the third has more humble specs.
Considering this information and the Geekbench performance we saw, if AMD is working on “bigger” Ryzen AI 300 APUs, which could mean more powerful ones, we could be in for a treat. Aside from that, the Golden Pig Upgrade Pack also mentioned “Ryzen AI Max Plus,” which could be another line or the name of the “big” Ryzen AI 300 APUs they’re working on.
We don't have any further details yet, but whatever it is, we're sure it will make a big impact on the AI CPU industry as more laptops come with these AI-powered APUs.
