Granada – Around the world in 50 experiments

Our next stop on our trip. Around the world in 50 experiments It is a chain of islands in the Caribbean Sea called Grenada. Grenada is made up of three islands, Grenada, Petit Martinique and Carriacou. These volcanic islands have a beautiful tropical climate, gorgeous beaches, lush rainforests, and abundant wildlife.

Pomegranate produces many spices, such as nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, bay leaf and turmeric.

Granada – Curious facts

Grenada produces about a third of the world's nutmeg!

In addition to spices, Granada is famous for its cocoa production.

The official language of Grenada is English.

Levera Beach is known for its population of leatherback turtles, which are now critically endangered.

The population of Granada is around 110,000 inhabitants.

Granada is nicknamed The spice island.

Granada is home to the world's first submarine. sculpture park. The structures are mostly made of pH-neutral concrete, which attracts marine life to form an artificial reef. This is great as it also attracts tourists, which reduces pressure on the natural reefs.

Rainy Day Mum has a great activity with a jellyfish plastic bag showing how easily animals can mistake plastic for food. Eating just one piece of plastic can endanger a turtle's life*.

Spices and smells

Activity of smell and taste.

Granada is famous for its spices. Spices give off lovely smells and add a delicious flavor to foods. Did you know how the smell of a food affects its taste?

Try to eat something while holding your nose; you'll probably find that it doesn't taste as good as when you can smell it all over.
