look and feel
The Campfire Audio Trifecta Astral Plane immediately caught my attention with its impressive design, which combines innovation and sophistication perfectly. Among the various options available, these IEMs stood out as a symbol of Campfire's dedication to quality. As I examined them closer, the clear nylon casing revealed intricate gold details, making me curious about their inner workings. Their unique triangular shape hinted at Campfire's adventurous spirit, while their comfortable fit made them feel like one of the most ergonomic IEMs I've tested. Despite potential debates about its sound isolation, the Trifecta's aesthetic appeal and promise of an exceptional listening experience left me eager to delve deeper into its performance.

Design and functionality
The Trifecta comes equipped with three gold-plated 10mm dynamic drivers and includes three silver-plated copper cables in different sizes: 2.5mm, 3.5mm and 4.4mm, with a flat wrapped 4-core design for greater flexibility. Despite its low impedance of 6.3 ohms, caution is advised to avoid volume hiccups with DAC/amp setups. The triple dynamic driver configuration creates a rich and expansive soundstage, enveloping listeners in layers of detailed textures. Its custom 10mm full-range ADLC diaphragm dynamic drivers, arranged in an equilateral triangle, deliver a lush and powerful sound experience, promising immersive audio enjoyment.

sound stage
The Trifecta soundstage initially required a unique adjustment period for me. At first, I noticed the pronounced prominence of the mids, almost feeling like they were pushed forward, while the bass seemed more recessed in comparison. The treble initially left me unsure, overshadowed by the dominating presence of the mids. However, after spending several hours immersed in listening sessions, my perception began to change. I came to appreciate Trifecta's wide soundstage, characterized by Campfire's signature dimensionality. Even amid intricate mixes, each instrument maintained a distinct position, offering a sense of depth and spatial clarity that enhanced the overall listening experience. The image, once notable solely for its depth, revealed subtle nuances of pitch variation, adding layers of dimension to the soundscape. In conclusion, the Trifecta's solid separation and comprehensive imaging contribute to a clean and deeply engaging soundstage that captivates and immerses the listener.

low end
Initially, I noticed that the Trifecta's bass was somewhat overshadowed by the dominant mids, but when listening to a variety of genres, I found the amount of bass to be satisfactory. These IEMs are not designed for bass enthusiasts, but they strike a good balance with the mids and highs, especially evident in pop music. Personally, I wished for a little more bass presence, but overall, they remain well integrated into the overall sound signature, contributing to a clean, detailed presentation without overpowering other frequencies.

media
Within Trifecta lies its captivating midrange, where warmth meets clarity in perfect harmony. Here the mid-bass shines with impressive definition, especially on acoustic guitars. Going up to the upper mids, resolution is key as it enhances the presence of guitars, pianos and percussion. The vocals feel intimate, while the strings add a smooth texture. Overall, the midrange offers a balanced and immersive listening experience with precise layering.

Highs
In the treble, Trifecta gives you a dazzling sound experience, reminiscent of the ethereal vocals of Diplo's “Stay High.” The vocals are simply exquisite and draw you in with their warmth and clarity. Despite its brightness, the treble remains perfectly balanced, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable listening session. With remarkable detail and delicate texture, the Trifecta's treble brings every note to life, immersing you in a world of sonic wonder with every song.

Summary
I absolutely love the Trifecta and give them a solid 10/10 for their stunning design and exceptional comfort. While the soundstage impresses at an 8.8, I was longing for a little more bass presence. However, the mids and highs offer stellar performance, earning top marks for clarity and detail. With a full set of accessories and exceptional overall quality, the Trifecta certainly earns its place at the top of the shelf with a rating of 9.5/10, making it well worth the investment. This IEM proves that it can confidently compete with even the newest models on the market.
