Android Lock Screen Widgets - Notes
An outstanding widget for taking notes right on my Android phone's lock screen – huzzah!

JR Rafael, IDG

There, front and center, is a widget that shows my most recent notes inside Keep Google. I can view and scroll through my notes, and with a single tap (and proper authentication), I can jump directly to any individual note. either Create a new note right then and there, without additional steps or wasted seconds.

And to be clear, Google Keep is just the widget I chose for this example. You could easily use a widget for OneNote, Notion or any of the others great note taking apps for android which make widgets available. Or you could even go in a completely different direction and use a android widget that has nothing to do with taking notes: one related to your calendar, your tasks, or anything else you can think of.

Just remember that inevitably anything you place in this area will be visible to anyone who has their paws on your physical device. You will still need to authenticate to get in the associated application, view more than the initially visible preview, or edit and create anything within it, but, particularly when dealing with sensitive company information, you will want to think carefully about what you present in that pre-authentication area.
