SpaceX Starship Orbital Flight Test 4 – infographic by Tony Bela

Australian space illustrator tony bela has created an infographic of the next 4th integrated flight test from SpaceX Starship rocket (B11 booster, S29 ship) in Thursday June 6 (120 minute test window opens at 7:00 am central time) from Starbase, Boca Chica, Texas.

SpaceX: “The fourth flight test shifts our focus from reaching orbit to demonstrating the ability to return and reuse Starship and Super Heavy. The main objectives will be to execute a soft landing and splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico with the Super Heavy booster and achieve a controlled Starship entry. To achieve this, several software and hardware upgrades have been made to increase overall reliability and address lessons learned from Flight 3. The SpaceX team will also implement operational changes, including the removal of the Super Heavy's hot stage following the boost to reduce the mass of the propellant for the final phase of flight.

Flight 4 will fly a similar trajectory to the previous flight test, with Starship intended to land in the Indian Ocean. “This flight path does not require deorbitation for reentry, maximizing public safety while providing the opportunity to meet our primary goal of a controlled reentry to Starship.”
