Geekom MEGAMINI G1: a high-performance mini-PC

If you’ve been following us, you’ll have seen our reviews of Geekom’s mini-PCs, and all the good things we’ve said about them. But the manufacturer’s range, however high-performance it may be, is generally limited to what until recently was identified under the acronym “NUC”. Things are about to change, as Geekom is about to launch a compact PC, dubbed the Megamini G1, equipped with a dedicated graphics card and a custom liquid cooling system. To top it off, the design is very interesting (at least at first glance).

To be precise, The paternity of this new baby does not belong entirely to GeekomIt was back in February at this year's MWC when a Chinese company called Tecno unveiled a small desktop computer that supported up to an Intel Core i9-13900H and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Graphic cards.

Geekom MEGAMINI G1: Small but powerful (and upgradeable?)

This week we learned that Geekom plans to present a version of this small PC under the TECNO x GEEKOM brand at the IFA trade show in Berlin in September. The images published show several things:

  • The proposed product appears to be a partnership between Geekom and Tecno
  • The design has evolved slightly, as has the size: Tecno's February prototype had dimensions of 249 x 132 x 132 mm, while Geekom now reports 255 x 150 x 150 mm for a volume of 6 liters.
  • No pricing has been announced yet, but details and availability could be revealed at IFA in September.

As for the technical specifications, we know that the maximum supported CPU is an i9-13900H (a mobile version, in other words) and that the dedicated GPU seems to be limited to an RTX 4060 in ITX format (which is already remarkable). The Geekom / Tecno partnership, which is still unclear for the moment, nevertheless opens the door to other motherboards, in particular AMD.
