These 10 easy science tricks for kids They are a lot of fun and mostly super simple. The density one is a little complicated and potentially messy, but the incredible end result is worth the effort.
Easy Scientific Magic Tricks
Click through a balloon
First is the puncture through a balloon trick. Be careful with this one, as the skewer will be sharp and it may be worth having a few spare balloons until you get the hang of it.
Better advice – Place a little vegetable oil on the parts of the balloon that the skewer will pass through and push the skewer through the thickest parts of the balloon.
Leak proof bag
Impress your friends with a easy leak proof bag. All you need for this one is a resealable sandwich bag and some super sharp pencils.
Better advice – use very sharp pencils.

Do you know why the colored water doesn't mix with the uncolored water in the image below? It's a little density trick. Add a lot of salt to the bottom layer (making it denser) so that the less dense water on top doesn't mix with the denser colored bottom layer.
Top tip: This also works with cold and warm water. Warm water is less dense than cold water.
