At Computex, Noctua not only presented its new NH-D15 G2 or a prototype thermosiphon cooler. The company also introduced new fans and fans, so we'll take a closer look at them.
The new generation of Noctua fans:
Of course, the new D15 also means a new fan for Noctua. That is why the brand is exhibiting its next NF-A14x25 G2.
As you can see, the fan has a new shape of blades that, like the NF-A12x25, will pass very close to the frame, 0.7 mm in this case. To ensure sufficient rigidity, the brand uses a liquid crystal polymer, the famous Sterrox. The mill has also been designed with a specially shaped motor. Otherwise the AAO frame and SSO2 bearings are the same.
This model should be available this month, with a 14×15 cm frame. In September, the square version will be released, while the Chromax.Black version is expected in the first quarter of 2025.
In addition, the brand exhibits a prototype of its new generation 120 mm fan. Will it replace the NF-A12x25? Maybe. Meanwhile, it features many of the same elements as its 140mm counterpart, such as the shape of the motor and blades. All of which means improved performance compared to the current NF-A12x25. The tolerance between slat and frame remains the same: 0.5 mm! This mill should arrive in the first quarter of 2025… It remains to be seen if this deadline will be met, as there have been numerous postponements in the past.
New refrigerators:
Also on display is the prototype of a new 120mm twin tower model. We learn that it will be topped by two new generation 12cm fans, the same as those previously presented. In terms of performance, it should be a heavyweight, at least on par with the current NH-D15, thanks in part to its eight copper heatpipes. The box includes a syringe of NT-H2 paste, a thermal paste protector for AM5 CPUs, and spacers to improve contact with LGA-1700 CPUs.
Expected for the second quarter of 2025.
Furthermore, on the AI front, Noctua is also addressing NVIDIA's GH200 with a dedicated cooling system. It consists of two side-by-side NH-U12A fans and three NF-A12x25 fans. This set is responsible for cooling the CPU and GPU of the NVIDIA accelerator. Finally, a proprietary base will be installed to ensure memory cooling, at the same time as the fans are mounted. In short, it is a package designed to dissipate 1000W of power.
Availability is planned for the fourth quarter of 2024.
