In the last few weeks of the year Global Satellite Business Week In Paris, NorthStar Earth & Space was one of the recipients of the Earth Observation Excellence Award given by the event organizer. Novel space.
NorthStar was the winner of the Sustainable Development & Business Award. Novaspace described the award win as follows: “NorthStar has been dedicated to sustainable initiatives and a safer space environment by pioneering the first Space Situational Awareness (SSA) satellite constellation. With its data-driven approach providing space traffic control, NorthStar is also growing its Ground Intelligence aspect to provide actionable insights to support monitoring of sustainable natural capital in agriculture, forestry and greenhouse gas emissions.”
Srinivas Setty, CEO, accepted the NorthStar Award and said: “We are honoured to receive the WSBW 2024 Sustainable Development & Business Award from Novaspace, whose leadership and expertise help foster sustainability in the space sector. This award underscores the importance of global collaboration to develop the capabilities needed to address the pressing challenges facing our space environment.”

Novaspace said: “The annual Earth Observation Excellence Awards recognise achievements in commercial initiatives and technological innovation. A panel of industry experts evaluated a shortlist of candidates based on rigorous criteria. The winners accepted their award at a final ceremony at World Space Business Week in front of a large audience of over 1,400 delegates, from over 500 space organisations and representing over 50 countries around the world.”
The winner of the Finspace Competition, a competition launched in 2017 that is awarded to “promising and emerging startups that demonstrate exceptional and innovative ideas in space technology,” was also awarded.
This year's winner was Odysseus' space.
